Lucinda Raine is a headmaster (originally teacher) at Dance Academy. She was promoted to headmaster afterMr. Kennedy. She is the godparent of Grace Whitney, meaning that Grace may get special treatment during classes.

In Learning to Fly, Part 1 she is seen discussing with Mr. Kennedy, a teacher and Tara about Tara going out at night without permission. When Kat covers for Tara, Mr. Kennedy asks Tara to show her solo that Miss Raine told him about.

Miss Raine was unimpressed at first by Tara, but after Tara showed Miss Raine her solo, she knew that she had 'potential'. In the second semester of First Year, she is given the scholarship and continued to have it into the second series.
