Saskia Duncan is the youngest principal dancer in the history of the company, she put in when she was just 16. Saskia became a teacher at the academy while she was recovering from an ankle injury after falling on stage. After watching Tara preform the Red Shoes dance, a dance that threw her into fame, she became very jealous of Tara's talent. Because of this she was very abusive, overly mean, and critical towards Tara in attempt to tear her down. Ben is the first to notice her extreme behaviour and points it out to Tara. Abigail also realizes this and refuses to dance Red Shoes, when Saskia offers it to her because of how unfair that would be to Tara. Saskia was the reason that Tara broke her back. She ended up quiting and told Tara that one day she too would be jealous of younger dancers talent like her.
